Overview
A national law firm with a technology-forward and innovative structure is seeking a Legal Director to manage day-to-day operations. The firm aims to provide accessible, transparent, and high-quality legal services across multiple states. This is a fully remote position reporting to the Principal Attorney.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the firm
- Lead and collaborate with a team of Managing Attorneys across various offices
- Oversee budgeting and financial management
- Develop and manage systems and initiatives to support attorneys in delivering top-tier legal services
- Facilitate growth while maintaining excellent legal representation
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction and eligible to practice in the state of residence; preference for NY, CA, GA, TX, or FL
- Minimum of 7 years of experience encompassing litigation, law firm operations, and legal operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a high-growth software or technology company, particularly in legal or strategic operations (preferred but not required)
- Proven strategic legal leadership, including managing legal operations and leading cross-functional initiatives aligned with business goals
- Ability to formulate and execute complex, organization-wide projects with multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, influencing, consensus-building, and clear communication with senior leaders
- Proficiency in data analytics, including designing metrics and presenting insights to leadership
- Adaptability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and pivot as needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creating compelling presentations and managing multiple stakeholders
- Strong people leadership skills, including managing change, influencing, developing, and coaching senior professionals
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $235,000 to $250,000
- Target bonus opportunity
- 5% 401(k) match
- Total compensation varies based on seniority, relevant experience, and location
- Some travel among offices is expected
