Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced Legal Domain Expert – Tax Law (USA) for a Legal Research & Analysis project focused on US federal and state tax laws, regulations, rulings, and related legal matters.

This role involves researching and analyzing complex tax issues and preparing clear, accurate, and well-supported legal responses using authoritative US legal sources.

Responsibilities

  • Research US federal and state tax laws, regulations, rulings, and case law
  • Analyze and interpret complex tax legislation, regulations, and judicial decisions
  • Research taxation matters including individual, corporate, partnership, estate & gift, and other tax issues
  • Review guidance issued by the IRS, US Treasury, and state tax authorities
  • Analyze tax disputes involving audits, assessments, penalties, appeals, and litigation
  • Identify relevant statutes, regulations, precedents, and administrative guidance
  • Prepare concise legal research summaries and written responses to tax-law questions
  • Ensure research is accurate, current, and supported by authoritative US legal sources

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in US Tax Law, legal research, tax controversy, tax advisory, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the US federal tax system and state tax frameworks
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of US statutes, regulations, case law, and administrative tax guidance
  • Excellent legal writing and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Professional-level written English
