Overview
This role supports legal research, analysis, and evaluation for intellectual property matters under US law. The organization is seeking experienced US Intellectual Property Law professionals to analyze complex legal issues, conduct authoritative legal research, and provide well-reasoned written responses.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed legal research on US Intellectual Property Law.
- Analyze federal statutes, regulations, case law, and relevant administrative decisions.
- Research and evaluate matters involving:
- Patent law
- Trademark and brand protection
- Copyright law
- Trade secret law
- IP licensing and assignments
- Technology and software-related IP
- IP ownership and enforcement
- Patent and trademark prosecution
- IP litigation and disputes
- Fair use and other IP-related defenses
- Review and interpret legal documents, contracts, pleadings, opinions, and regulatory materials.
- Identify relevant legal authorities and provide accurate legal reasoning.
- Evaluate legal scenarios and produce clear, structured, and well-supported written responses.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency when applying US legal principles.
- Follow defined research, quality, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with project and legal teams through written communication and virtual meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Attorney in the United States with relevant experience in Intellectual Property Law.
- Alternatively, candidates may include JD/LL.M. graduates, senior legal researchers, or experienced paralegals with substantial US IP law experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant professional experience in Intellectual Property Law.
- Strong understanding of the US federal IP legal framework.
- Demonstrated experience conducting legal research using authoritative legal sources.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and reasoning skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex legal authorities accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Patent prosecution or patent litigation
- Trademark prosecution, enforcement, or litigation
- Copyright registration, enforcement, or litigation
- Trade secret disputes
- IP licensing and technology transactions
- Software and technology-related IP matters

- IP due diligence
- Internet, digital media, or AI-related intellectual property issues
