New York Litigation Attorney, Insurance Defense

Overview

The organization is seeking a full-time Attorney to join the Insurance Defense Department in New York. This role is 100% fully remote, with court appearances required. Candidates must be able to live in proximity to the New York Courts within the NYC and Tri-State area.

Bar requirements: New York barred. (New Jersey bar admission is a plus.)

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense matters from initial file opening through discovery to resolution, including trial
• Conduct trial work and manage case progression through courtroom proceedings
• Perform deposition intake
• Work autonomously while coordinating with clients and other attorneys
• Apply detailed knowledge of New York court procedures, specifically Queens & Kings County
• Manage matters across the five boroughs

Requirements

• New York bar admission required
• Strong trial experience
• Experience with deposition intake
• Demonstrated understanding of New York court procedures, specifically Queens & Kings County
• Ability to work autonomously with clients and other attorneys
• Must live in proximity to the New York Courts within the NYC and Tri-State area for court appearances

Preferred Qualifications

• Actual trial experience to verdict is preferred
• New Jersey bar admission is a plus
