Overview
This role involves working as a courtroom lawyer within a Property Rights Practice Group, focusing on litigating property rights cases at state and federal courts nationwide, including trial and appellate levels. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to landmark cases protecting constitutional property rights and to become recognized as a nationwide leader in property rights litigation. Occasional opportunities to speak at conferences or with the media about cases or property rights issues may also be available.
Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and litigate important property rights cases across all court levels nationwide.
- Collaborate with other attorneys to protect the constitutional rights of Americans through strategic litigation.
- Work as part of a team to grow expertise and elevate efforts defending the right to own, keep, and use private property.
- Engage in occasional public speaking opportunities related to property rights litigation.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of litigation experience or equivalent, such as judicial clerkship experience.
- Demonstrated passion for litigating property rights cases.
- A track record of successful legal work.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of and passion for the principles of freedom and individual liberty.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% to 30% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- A deep understanding of the moral and constitutional basis for property rights is a significant advantage.

Location
The organization has offices in Sacramento, California; Arlington, Virginia; and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Approximately half of the staff work remotely across the country. Candidates may work from any office location or request to work virtually. This position suits lawyers who prefer working in an office environment or those who are self-motivated and able to collaborate proactively in a virtual setting.
