Real estate attorney (Remote, Part-time)

Overview

A legal team is seeking a part-time, hourly Staff Attorney to support their Real Estate practice, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects. This role averages approximately 20 hours per week, with some variation based on workflow and project needs. This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates physically located in Michigan, Ohio, or Illinois.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced attorney looking for meaningful, sophisticated work in a flexible, part-time arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Support renewable energy projects, including site development, leasing, and related agreements
• Draft, review, and revise real estate documents
• Conduct due diligence, title and survey review, and closings
• Perform legal research and issue spotting related to real estate matters
• Provide other project-based support as needed

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Michigan preferred)
• Prior experience in real estate transactions; experience with renewable energy projects is a plus
• Strong drafting, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a larger team
• Flexibility to adjust hours as project demands fluctuate
