A digital health scale-up is seeking a Senior Attorney to join their legal team during a period of rapid growth and market expansion. The organization has successfully launched multiple platforms and products, raised over $100 million in venture capital funding, reached profitability, and is experiencing over 100% year-over-year growth.

This remote role requires quarterly travel to the Atlanta office and reports directly to the General Counsel. The Senior Attorney will act as a key legal partner across the business, focusing on commercial and strategic initiatives, supporting deals, partnerships, and regulatory considerations that drive growth.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including provider contracts, partnership agreements, and vendor arrangements
  • Provide legal guidance on strategic business initiatives such as market expansion and new payor channel development
  • Conduct regulatory review and analysis to support commercial decision-making across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support compliance initiatives and help maintain the company's regulatory posture as operations scale
  • Manage the day-to-day flow of legal work, triaging priorities to ensure efficient and responsive legal function operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and product teams to provide pragmatic, business-forward legal advice
  • Develop legal playbooks, templates, and processes to enable rapid business movement without compromising quality
  • Stay current on relevant legal and regulatory developments in healthcare and technology, advising the business on implications

Key Objectives for the First Year

  • Establish yourself as a trusted commercial partner with stakeholders actively seeking your input on strategic decisions
  • Demonstrate ability to enable business growth by facilitating deals and initiatives rather than defaulting to caution
  • Build a reputation for high throughput on commercial work, delivering contracts and legal requests with speed and precision
  • Become the primary contact for managing day-to-day legal priorities and workflow
  • Prove yourself as a credible second-in-command to the General Counsel, capable of independently representing the legal function and handling escalations

Requirements

  • Substantive law firm experience in commercial contracting, particularly technology transactions, SaaS, licensing, and intellectual property agreements
  • Experience preferably in a highly regulated industry such as healthcare
  • Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and close commercial agreements efficiently, treating legal as a value-creation lever
  • Experience advising on market expansion, vendor and partner arrangements, or multi-jurisdictional deals
  • Trusted for early involvement in commercial conversations due to sound judgment
  • Comfortable using AI and technology tools to manage contracts and legal workflows, with clear understanding of when human judgment is essential
  • Ability to translate legal risk into clear business language without oversimplification
  • High emotional intelligence and adaptable communication style to build trust across diverse stakeholders
  • Bias toward solutions and getting deals done, with sound judgment on critical legal boundaries
  • Experience building repeatable legal processes such as playbooks, templates, and escalation frameworks
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity, managing high volume without sacrificing quality, and expanding role responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in healthcare law, including familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), Stark Law, Management Services Organization (MSO) structures, or data privacy and security

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $180,000 - $220,000
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Healthcare, vision, and dental insurance
  • Equipment necessary to perform the role effectively
  • Flexible working arrangements with remote or hybrid options
  • Personal development budgets
  • 18 days paid time off plus public holidays
  • 10 paid sick days
  • Inclusive policies promoting diversity and fairness
