  • Advise on paid placement, sponsorship, advertising, and disclosure requirements.
  • Address conflicts of interest and maintain independence and disclosure standards.
  • Support ongoing regulatory compliance and coordinate with local counsel on multi-jurisdictional issues.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, providing risk assessments and practical recommendations.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal teams, external parties, and regulators.
  • Develop scalable internal guidance, playbooks, and processes to enable rapid yet compliant business operations.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 4 to 7 years post-qualification experience, ideally in-house, with direct advisory experience in crypto or web3 businesses.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to crypto, web3, fintech, or financial services, with practical application to products.
  • Familiarity with financial promotions, advertising, and marketing regulations related to financial or crypto products, including paid placement, sponsorship, and disclosure.
  • Understanding of regulation around trading, brokerage, or market infrastructure activities and ability to identify regulated activities.
  • Experience across regulatory, licensing, product, and commercial legal work.
  • Comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions and quickly learning unfamiliar regulatory regimes, with support from local counsel.
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining regulatory issues to non-lawyers and collaborating with global teams.
  • Practical, solution-oriented mindset with initiative to identify issues early and propose workable solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities and multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with licensing or registration for crypto, payments, or financial services providers (e.g., VASP or other crypto-asset service provider regimes).
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks across multiple regions such as MiCA, UK, US, APAC, EMEA, or LATAM.
  • Working knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions, consumer protection, and data protection rules as they apply to financial and crypto products.
