Overview
A leading organization in the Consumer Technology sector is seeking a Senior Counsel for their Core Product team. This role involves supporting high-impact initiatives that directly influence business performance and team success. The position requires collaboration across multiple functions to advance priorities, solve complex challenges, and deliver measurable results. Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $158,765 – $326,870 annually
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with strategy, engineering, product management, communications, and legal teams to identify and manage legal risks in product development
- Provide legal advice on emerging issues related to generative AI, content acquisition, intellectual property/copyright, open source, and privacy
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to improve efficiency and align with long-term organizational goals
- Establish scalable legal processes and automate workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency in guidance provided to product and engineering teams
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced legal environment
- In-house legal experience at a technology company is preferred
- Expertise in legal issues related to artificial intelligence, intellectual property/copyright, safety, and privacy
- Demonstrated exceptional judgment, integrity, and strong communication skills
- Process-driven and results-oriented with the ability to address issues independently and promptly
- Strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering innovative and pragmatic solutions
- Strong project management skills, capable of building scalable programs and driving initiatives to completion
- AI-forward mindset with experience leveraging AI tools for legal analysis and problem-solving
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with generative AI and content acquisition legal matters
- Familiarity with open source legal issues
- Proficiency with legal project management and automation tools (e.g., Contract Express, DocuSign)
- Experience using AI analytics tools for legal insights (e.g., IBM Watson, LegalMation)
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework
