Overview
A nationally recognized financial services law firm is seeking a Senior Privacy & Technology Transactions Attorney to join their team. This fully remote, permanent role focuses on serving as outside general counsel to credit unions and financial institutions across the United States. The firm operates as embedded outside counsel, advising clients on the operational and regulatory aspects of modern banking and credit union technology.
Responsibilities
- Lead negotiation and structuring of technology vendor agreements including SaaS, hosted platforms, cloud services, licensing, fintech partnerships, payment systems, and outsourcing arrangements.
- Advise clients on contract risk allocation such as indemnities, limitation of liability, service level agreements, termination rights, audit rights, data use, and transition/exit provisions.
- Evaluate vendor product structures (hosted vs. on-premises, proprietary vs. licensed, integration points, data flows) and negotiate terms aligned with operational realities.
- Review and negotiate vendor security, data processing, and incident response provisions with a focus on privacy protection.
- Identify and address GLBA, CCPA, GDPR, and other financial-services-specific privacy considerations within commercial agreements.
- Counsel clients on third-party risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Advise on intellectual property ownership and licensing in fintech and technology collaborations.
- Serve as the primary negotiator with sophisticated fintech and vendor legal teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience negotiating complex technology and fintech agreements; flexibility for candidates with highly relevant experience.
- Ability to independently lead negotiations from initial draft through execution.
- Experience in-house at a fintech company, bank, or credit union, or in a law firm practice focused on financial services technology transactions.
- Strong familiarity with vendor management structures and regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.
- Working knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity frameworks as they relate to commercial technology contracts.
- Commercially minded with the ability to advise business clients in real time.
- Interest in long-term growth within a niche, financial-institution-focused practice.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $215,000 to $275,000 annually, plus applicable bonuses.
