Texas Title Examiner

Overview

This role supports the organization’s Agency Division by performing title examination for residential properties. Work involves reviewing public records to determine the legal condition of property titles, abstracting relevant documents, and preparing initial title commitment and related reports according to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform title examination and examine the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily residential
• Abstract and analyze records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat/map books to determine ownership and legal restrictions
• Verify legal descriptions of property and confirm completeness of records
• Resolve issues such as missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information in title documentation
• Prepare initial title commitment documentation based on application of procedural guidelines
• Prepare and review reports for accuracy
• Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines (when applicable)
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Typically requires 2+ years directly related experience
• Texas Title Examination experience
• State license(s) if required
• Detail and quality orientation
• Analytical review, research, and investigative skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Communication skills, both verbal and written
• Customer service orientation
• Proficiency with standard MS skill set
• Proficiency with company operating systems
• Knowledge of legal terms helpful

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $23.37 - $31.15 Hourly (Remote)
• This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
