Remote · US Full Time
Est. $150K – $220K/yr

Overview

This role focuses on US regulatory engagement for onchain lending. With the SEC, CFTC, Treasury, and FinCEN actively developing and enforcing rules that will govern this area, the legal team needs additional capacity to manage a high volume of rulemaking activity, requests for comment, and staff engagement.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this position owns the US policy pipeline end to end—tracking rulemakings, drafting submissions, and leading meetings with agency staff, Congress, and industry coalitions.

Responsibilities

  • Track SEC, CFTC, Treasury, and FinCEN rulemakings, guidance, staff statements, and enforcement relevant to onchain lending; maintain a live calendar of comment deadlines with a recommended posture for each.
  • Draft comment letters, responses to requests for comment, and other written submissions; incorporate input from Protocol, Product, Research, and outside counsel; prepare materials for General Counsel sign-off.
  • Prepare and lead meetings with agency staff and commissioner offices, including briefing materials, talking points, and follow-up submissions.
  • Represent the organization in trade association working groups and industry coalitions; coordinate contributions into joint filings.
  • Engage congressional offices and committee staff on legislation and implementation efforts where they affect DeFi lending.
  • Manage outside policy counsel and consultants day to day, including scoping, deliverables, and spend.
  • Brief leadership and product teams on US policy developments through short written updates and flag implications for the protocol, products, and external messaging.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience working on SEC or CFTC matters, including at an agency, in a law firm regulatory practice, at a trade association, or on an in-house regulatory or policy team.
  • Prior SEC or CFTC staff experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal securities and commodities law and of the rulemaking process (notice and comment, staff guidance, no-action, and exemptive relief).
  • Excellent writing skills, demonstrated by comment letters, regulatory submissions, or similar work products.
  • Existing relationships with agency staff, congressional staff, or industry coalitions.
  • Ability to learn how onchain lending works and explain it clearly and accurately to non-technical audiences.
  • Sound judgment on when to escalate; comfortable preparing positions for sign-off rather than setting them alone.
  • Strong ownership and autonomy.
  • Clear and crisp async communication across a team split between Paris, New York, and DC.
  • Comfort operating in fast-changing, ambiguous contexts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Team-first mindset and low-ego collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Fair, top-tier compensation.
  • Real flexibility.
  • Time together in Paris.
  • Great health coverage.
  • Support to keep learning.
