Associate Attorney, Traverse City, Michigan

This role is for a full-time Associate Attorney position based in Michigan at a remote work location.

Compensation: $90,000 / year

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of the organization’s clients in Michigan
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and/or settle claims
• Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
• Travel for in-court appearances while working from home

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in Michigan
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in LexisNexis (preferred)

• Remote
• Candidates must be located in or within a commutable distance to Traverse City, MI to be considered.

Because the organization’s headquarters are in New York, this position entails communicating with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
