Overview

Full-time independent contractor role supporting attorney development and people management. This position is 100% remote, with an Americas time zone requirement and support for US Eastern Time working hours.

You will join the People Team and work closely with firm leadership to build feedback and learning programs that help associates develop, feel connected, and improve utilization.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run a feedback cadence (move beyond annual review by supporting team members in receiving actionable feedback for growth).
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with partners and firm leadership, tailoring approaches to different needs.
  • Create and sustain a sense of community through programs and touchpoints that help associates feel they belong.
  • Own learning & development end-to-end, including program design grounded in adult learning theory and ongoing program management.
  • Coach and mentor associates as a people manager, including coaching individuals, addressing performance concerns, and supporting career progression.
  • Use utilization and performance data to identify where associates are under- or mis-utilized and translate insights into action.
  • Contribute a talent-focused point of view to talent acquisition efforts, including future attorney team programs; apply working knowledge of US employment law as it relates to development and performance.
  • Represent attorney development as a credible, influential function within the firm, communicating clearly with leadership.

Requirements

  • Legal or attorney-development background; experience inside a law firm or legal tech environment is preferred.
  • Ability to operate with judgment rather than relying on years served; comfortable handling ambiguous situations, identifying gaps, prioritizing, and driving outcomes.
  • Strong learning & development program design skills, including training built on adult learning theory.
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience, ideally including prior people management.
  • Working knowledge of US employment law (not required to be an attorney; comfortable knowing when issues require closer review).
  • Data-driven approach, including comfort pulling together utilization and performance data to spot problems and recommend action.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Americas time zone, ideally ET, with real overlap required with the team and attorneys supported.
  • Resilient, direct, and transparent working style; comfort with ambiguity; AI-forward and tech-savvy.
