Claims Attorney Sr- Large Loss Litigated Claims

Overview

A financial services organization is seeking a highly experienced Claims Attorney Senior to join their Large Loss Litigated Claims team. This role focuses on managing large loss litigated casualty claims, with occasional involvement in first-party property matters. The position provides strategic legal consultation to claims professionals and collaborates closely with defense counsel to ensure effective and efficient litigation aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of large loss litigated casualty claims.
• Provide strategic legal advice and training to claims personnel to ensure consistent file handling.
• Assign cases to outside counsel and evaluate their performance.
• Control litigation costs and claim severity.
• Respond to subpoenas, court orders, and other legal requests in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Attend pertinent trials as needed (not as attorney of record).
• Provide oversight and supervision to outside counsel on claims-related litigation.
• Serve as a trusted resource to the General Liability team, offering expert guidance on legal issues and claim resolution strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Large Loss Litigated Claims or related areas.
• Must have passed the Bar exam.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $110,000 - $151,250, determined by skills, qualifications, and experience.
• Eligibility for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
