Director, Legal Recruiting and Placement (Attorney)

Overview

A legal recruiting team is seeking a Director of Legal Recruiting & Placement to identify, recruit, and place corporate and law firm attorneys and paraprofessionals in secondment, interim, consulting, and permanent roles. This remote, full-time position offers work-from-home flexibility and the opportunity to leverage legal experience beyond traditional law practice.

Responsibilities

• Source, recruit, interview, assess, and propose candidates proactively or in response to client requests
• Present candidates effectively to in-house counsel and law firm partner clients both orally and in writing
• Develop and operate creative sourcing, assessment, placement, and onboarding processes
• Maintain positive relationships with attorneys and paraprofessionals through ongoing communication, social media, events, and professional development
• Collaborate as part of a responsive, cohesive team serving candidates, consulting attorneys, paralegals, and clients

Requirements

• Minimum of three years practicing as an attorney in a mid-to-large corporate law firm or in-house legal department
• Strong client service skills with the ability to communicate at a high level with sophisticated legal clients and attorneys
• Dependable, detail-oriented, highly organized, discreet, and a team player
• Flexibility to work in a fast-growing, agile environment and collaborate effectively
• Proficiency in using social media, online recruiting tools, and in-person networking for candidate sourcing and marketing
• Active involvement in professional associations; leadership experience preferred (e.g., bar associations, Association of Corporate Counsel, Inn of Court)
• Ability to prioritize and adjust focus as needed
• Willingness to work a demanding full-time schedule with some evening and weekend communication
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Strong professional references

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $90,000 to $125,000 annually
• Bonus potential up to 25% of base salary (total compensation range $112,500 to $156,250)
• Benefits include group medical, dental, and vision insurance; group life, long-term disability, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance
• Qualified 401(k) plan available
• CLE and professional expense stipend up to $1,000 per year for eligible employees
