Employee Benefits Counsel

Overview

The organization is seeking an Employee Benefits Counsel with 7+ years of experience on the welfare-side of the employee benefits advice and counsel practice.

Responsibilities

As Counsel in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Department, you will work on interesting, challenging, and groundbreaking legal projects in a team-based environment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of employee benefits experience in health and welfare plans, including HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, mental health parity, cafeteria plans, flexible spending accounts, severance plans, and related compliance and counseling work
• Top law firm experience, or a combination of law firm and in-house experience
• Excellent academic credentials
• Analytical skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Admission to the Illinois Bar (or the ability to waive into the Illinois Bar)

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $370,000 to $420,000
  • This range is applicable for work performed in Chicago.
  • An employee’s pay within the range will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
  • Eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
