Immigration Staff Attorney

Overview

A humanitarian immigration law firm established in 2020 is seeking a Staff Attorney to join their remote team based in the United States. The firm focuses on providing legal support to individuals and families seeking safety and stability, often assisting clients who have been turned away elsewhere.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client calls to answer legal questions and provide updates on immigration cases
• Explain immigration processes and next steps clearly and compassionately
• Review draft immigration applications according to instructions from Senior Attorneys
• Identify and track necessary edits before submission
• Communicate clearly with team members regarding application edits
• Meet daily goals related to case reviews and client communications
• Perform legal research on immigration law topics

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with a state bar
• Ability to follow detailed instructions
• Interest in immigration law
• Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, Dropbox, and MS Outlook
• Experience with case management software preferred
• Fluency in English; Spanish fluency (written and spoken) preferred but not required

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $65,000 to $69,750 annually (final offer depends on experience, skills, and location)
