Legal Consultant - LNG

Overview

A legal consultant role is available to support a busy and growing LNG business across Asia. This position provides day-to-day legal support across LNG contracting, trading activities, and LNG infrastructure projects, working closely with commercial and trading teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role is focused on substantive legal work and is well-suited for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working directly with the business, managing complex and time-sensitive matters, and providing practical legal advice in a trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support to the LNG supply, trading, and infrastructure business across Asia.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on LNG and energy-related commercial agreements.
• Support LNG trading activities by advising on contractual, commercial, and risk-related matters.
• Advise on LNG supply, sale and purchase, transportation, and related trading arrangements.
• Provide legal guidance on LNG infrastructure and development projects, including reviewing and negotiating project-related documentation.
• Work closely with commercial, trading, project, and other business stakeholders to identify and manage legal and contractual risks.

Requirements

• 10+ PQE with significant experience in one or more of the following areas relating to LNG:
  • Commercial transactions
  • Commodities trading
  • Infrastructure
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
• Ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of matters from start to finish.
