Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced Of Counsel, Intellectual Property attorney to support clients on IP matters as needed. This flexible, high-trust role is suited to an attorney who wants to maintain an independent practice while working with a modern business law firm, established client relationships, and a revenue-sharing structure.

The initial focus will include trademarks, brand clearance, trademark prosecution, copyright, IP ownership, licensing, founder and startup IP matters, and general IP strategy. Patent filing and prosecution experience is a bonus, particularly for clients evaluating, preparing, or coordinating patent protection, but is not required.

The attorney will maintain an organization-provided email address, participate in the client service model, and work directly with clients where appropriate. There may be an opportunity to expand into a deeper or full-time role over time; the current need is flexible and of counsel in nature.

This position may suit an experienced IP attorney with an independent, solo, boutique, or fractional practice who wants to supplement that practice with high-quality client work. It may also suit an attorney transitioning from a law firm, in-house role, or other senior legal position who seeks a more flexible way to work with practical, business-minded clients.
