Patent Agent or Attorney (5G and wireless standards) - Remote

Overview

A law firm specializing in patent legal services is seeking patent attorneys or agents to join a new and growing 5G standards practice. The firm emphasizes high-quality patent prosecution with flexibility and agility, focusing on client needs rather than traditional law firm performance metrics.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to 4G, 5G, and 6G technical submissions to the 3GPP Communication Standards Organization.
• Prepare claim charts mapping patent claims to 3GPP Communication Standards.
• Serve as outside counsel providing expert patent prosecution services.

Requirements

• Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Experience working with 3GPP Communication Standards submissions.
• Ability to contribute immediately and significantly to the 5G standards practice.

Preferred Location

• The main office is located in Los Angeles, with an additional office in Northern Virginia.
• Proximity to either office is preferred but not required.
• The firm is particularly interested in candidates who want to help grow the team in the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. areas.
• This is a remote position.

Compensation

• Salary range: $100,000 to $160,000 USD per year, commensurate with qualifications.
