Product Counsel, Crypto

Overview

This role involves serving as Product Counsel within a financial infrastructure platform that supports businesses globally. The focus is on legal and regulatory aspects related to the development and commercialization of cryptocurrency, stablecoin, and traditional fiat money movement products.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance to ensure product compliance with laws and contractual commitments worldwide.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, partnerships, compliance, risk, and marketing teams on product development and commercialization.
• Advise on emerging legal and regulatory developments affecting products, identifying trends and potential business impacts.
• Work closely with global legal teams to support regulatory structures, customer agreements, and strategic financial partnerships.
• Develop scalable and effective processes for legal review and product launches.
• Stay informed on US, UK, EU, and other global laws and regulations related to cryptocurrency and stablecoin products.
• Act as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm, in-house legal team, or government agency.
• Expertise in legislation related to cryptocurrency and stablecoin products.
• Experience advising on the development of cryptocurrency and stablecoin products, preferably with global exposure.
• Ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear, actionable advice for technology teams.
• Collaborative team player with a willingness to share knowledge.
• Qualified US lawyer.
• Strong passion for technology and quick understanding of complex business models and product use cases.
• Entrepreneurial mindset; self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills with imperfect information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with cryptocurrency and stablecoin product development on a global scale.

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual US base salary range: $209,500 - $314,300, adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and location.
• Additional benefits may include equity, company bonuses or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.

Location

• Remote work is supported for locations 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from an office.
• Occasional office visits for meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events may be expected.
• The organization does not cover relocation costs for remote positions.
