Overview

This role is a Summer 2025 Legal Intern position with the legal department. Interns will gain exposure to a broad range of legal disciplines while supporting legal research, contract review and drafting, and other work connected to publishing and media.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research
• Review books for legal concerns
• Draft contracts
• Support the legal team with challenges related to being a leading publisher of English-language books
• Gain exposure to legal disciplines including:
  • Defamation
  • Copyright
  • Right of publicity
  • Privacy
  • Trademark
  • Commercial law
• Participate in panels, networking events, and employee speaker series

Internship Program Details

• Duration: 10 weeks
• Program dates: June 7th, 2027 – August 12th, 2027
• Schedule: 28 hours per week (four days a week, Monday through Thursday)
• Work arrangement: Remote
• Time zone requirement: candidates must be able to work primarily on Eastern Time
• Location note: program is run out of New York Headquarters
• Compensation: $21 per hour

Requirements & Eligibility

• Currently enrolled in an accredited law school and in the first year of the program (1L)
• Able to work 28 hours/week throughout the program
• Available and committed to the program working June 7th, 2027 – August 12th, 2027
• Must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship program
• Must be over the age of 18
