Overview
The organization is seeking a Bankruptcy & Reorganization Attorney to join its practice team. This role advises clients across industries on insolvency, restructuring, and bankruptcy matters, including managing risk and navigating complex financial challenges. This is an existing vacancy.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate restructuring plans, forbearance agreements, financing documents, purchase agreements, and other bankruptcy-related documents.
- Advise clients on Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor rights, insolvency issues, and financial restructurings.
- Collaborate with clients, business teams, and outside counsel on bankruptcy cases, distressed transactions, and workouts.
- Manage legal issues involving distressed businesses, debt obligations, claims, and asset sales.
- Monitor developments in bankruptcy law and restructuring practices to provide proactive counsel.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency law.
- Strong knowledge of Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor rights, and restructuring processes.
- Proven experience advising clients on bankruptcy matters, financial workouts, or distressed transactions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills.
- Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience representing debtors, creditors, lenders, committees, or other stakeholders in bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
- Experience with out-of-court restructurings, distressed debt, debtor-in-possession financing, asset sales, or plan confirmation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated total compensation (full-time attorney roles): $104,500-325,000 per year.
- Estimated total compensation (non-attorney roles): $71,250-309,750 per year.
- Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
