Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Of Counsel

Overview

A national law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices is seeking an Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Of Counsel to join their Denver office. This role offers a flexible hybrid or remote working arrangement and involves working with a collaborative team handling insurance coverage and litigation matters across Colorado and the United States.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices
• Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters
• Handle discovery and draft pleadings and motions in coverage litigation matters
• Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on various subjects
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the state of Colorado
• Minimum of 8 years of defense litigation experience
• At least 5 years of insurance coverage/coverage litigation experience
• Experience drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (e.g., CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, intellectual property)
• Experience with third-party and/or first-party claims
• Coverage analysis and legal writing experience
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions
• Preferred experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses
• Court appearances, depositions, and trial experience are a plus
• Superior analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $175,000 to $200,000 USD
