Overview
The organization is seeking a Legal Operations Engineer to design and build proprietary software solutions and AI workflows that improve Legal efficiency. Legal Operations applies business principles, processes, and technology to increase the efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness of the in-house legal department.
In this role, you partner closely with Legal to transform legal service delivery into a competitive advantage through data, technology, and AI—supporting global innovation and scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and document software tools, custom scripts, and automated workflows to streamline legal department processes.
- Integrate and expand the core legal tech stack (including CounselLink, Anaqua, and DocuSign CLM) with enterprise systems, APIs, custom tools, and automated data pipelines.
- Architect end-to-end technical solutions for high-impact areas such as legal intake triage, contract automation, IP operations, and spend analytics.
- Work with the Legal Operations manager, attorneys, paralegals, and partners from IT and Finance to translate legal workflows into scalable software solutions.
- Maintain user documentation, system architectures, and infrastructure to support stability and security for internal tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical subject area (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional software development or automation engineering experience.
- Proven track record designing, implementing, and documenting complete end-to-end solutions.
- Strong programming foundation in languages such as Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience involving RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn how legal teams operate and how corporate law works.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building integrations or custom solutions tailored to internal workflow.
- Experience working with legal tech platforms such as DocuSign, Anaqua, or CounselLink.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or low-code/no-code internal tool building (e.g., Retool, Streamlit, Power Automate).
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment while translating complex technical concepts for non-technical team members.
- Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and building modern AI-driven enterprise solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $124,000 USD - $195,500 USD (determined based on location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions).
- Eligible for equity.
