Overview

A law firm is seeking a Senior Conflicts Attorney to join their New Business Intake team. This role supports offices nationally and reports to the General Counsel. The position may be remote or hybrid from any office location.

Responsibilities

  • Review conflict check reports related to business intake and new hire processes.
  • Identify potential legal and business conflicts of interest and provide detailed analysis and advice to partners and firm leadership.
  • Assist in drafting and approving engagement letters and edit letters drafted by others.
  • Draft conflict waivers and facilitate waiver requests.
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of ethical walls and legal screens.
  • Guide Conflict Analysts and New Business Analysts on best practices, including corporate family research.
  • Respond to queries from attorneys and staff regarding business intake policies, conflicts of interest, ethical considerations, and firm policies.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects for the Office of General Counsel.
  • Work outside normal business hours as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar license in the state where the attorney will work.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a conflicts department at a mid- to large-sized law firm.
  • Working knowledge of conflict reports produced from Intapp Open and familiarity with legal software such as D&B/Hoovers, other Intapp products (e.g., Walls), CapIQ, and WorldCheck.
  • Knowledge of professional responsibility and legal ethics rules.
  • Experience with database searching and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across multiple media.
  • Demonstrated discretion in handling confidential client information.
  • Preferred experience interfacing directly with clients.
  • Ability to oversee and supervise staff members as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $160,000 – $180,000 annually, depending on experience.
  • Eligibility for discretionary bonus.
