Associate Attorney

Overview

A legal services organization is seeking a licensed attorney to join their team. This role involves handling bankruptcy, collections, civil litigation, and related legal matters with a focus on court appearances throughout Florida.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases involving bankruptcy, collections, and civil litigation.
• Appear in court in various locations across the state of Florida as required.
• Analyze case law and provide clear, well-reasoned legal recommendations.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for case management and documentation.

Requirements

• Active Florida law license is required.
• 0–3 years of experience in bankruptcy, collections, civil litigation, or related areas; court experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of federal debt collection laws and state civil litigation procedures.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must reside in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in additional states within the footprint (via UBE transfer or reciprocity, where applicable), including North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida.

Location

• This is a remote role; however, it requires in-person court appearances throughout the state of Florida.
• Qualified applicants must reside in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area.
