Overview

A legal team focused on AI is seeking an AI Policy Counsel to navigate the evolving legislative and regulatory landscape related to artificial intelligence in the US and internationally. This role involves analyzing complex and often unprecedented technology policy proposals and providing strategic legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposed AI-related laws and regulations to assess their impact on the organization and the broader AI community.
• Collaborate with Legal and Global Affairs teams to develop policy positions.
• Provide strategic analysis and advice to internal stakeholders, including the Global Affairs team.
• Advise on evolving regulatory and industry standards affecting the organization's business and customers.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience combining in-house legal roles and technology-focused law firm work.
• Strong background in technology policy with experience analyzing complex legislation.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in AI laws and regulations.
• Excellent written communication skills, able to distill complex concepts into clear, persuasive ideas.
• Experience engaging with regulators and/or policymakers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI technology and its regulatory environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $248,000 to $275,000 annually.
• Hybrid work model requiring 3 days in the office per week.
• Relocation assistance available for new employees.

Location

• Position based in San Francisco, CA or Washington, DC offices.
