Overview
The organization is seeking a detail-oriented Employee Relations Investigation Note Taker to support its UK investigations team.
This role supports investigations that may involve allegations of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation, as well as grievance and disciplinary matters. You will attend investigation meetings, capture accurate and detailed notes, and prepare a clear record for the Case Manager.
Meetings typically last between one and three hours and may involve several issues, interpreters, or trade union representatives. You will need to remain focused throughout sensitive discussions and be comfortable requesting participants repeat or clarify information when needed.
Responsibilities
- Take detailed notes during investigation, grievance, and disciplinary meetings, capturing what is said as accurately as possible.
- Ask participants to repeat or clarify points when needed.
- Help manage breaks and adjournments during meetings.
- Review, tidy, and finalise notes promptly after each meeting.
- Work with Case Managers, who coordinate meeting schedules and allocate assignments.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with care.
Requirements
- Junior to mid-level experience in HR, employee relations, law, or a related area.
- Excellent listening, typing, and written communication skills.
- Experience taking detailed notes during investigations, employee relations matters, legal proceedings, or similarly sensitive meetings.
- Ability to maintain concentration and accuracy during meetings lasting up to three hours.
- Confidence speaking up when clarification is needed.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet meeting and note-completion deadlines.
- Understanding of confidentiality and the importance of maintaining an accurate record.
