Overview

The organization is seeking experienced legal interpreters to provide remote interpretation services for U.S. immigration court hearings. Spanish is a high-volume language on this contract, offering steady assignments year-round with flexibility to accept as many cases as desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote interpretation for U.S. immigration court hearings
  • Support hearings across multiple U.S. time zones from your chosen location
  • Interpret for hearing types that may include:
    • Asylum
    • Removal
    • Credible fear
    • Bond hearings
    • Related proceedings
  • Deliver interpretation services including:
    • Simultaneous interpretation
    • Consecutive interpretation
    • Sight translation

Assignment Details

  • Work format: 100% remote (U.S.-based only); no travel/onsite required
  • Typical assignment length: 2.5–4.5 hours
  • Scheduling: Hearings across multiple U.S. time zones

Language Requirements

Prioritization is currently given to interpreters in the following languages (in addition to other qualified candidates):

  • Spanish (high volume)
  • Turkish
  • Hindi
  • Punjabi
  • Nepalese
  • Haitian Creole

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted for permanent residence
  • At least one year of experience interpreting in a judicial environment, with the ability to interpret for immigration courts
